Gemz Dance Academy offers fun and friendly dance classes for students from 18 months of age. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where every student, regardless of ability or skill level, can learn, be confident and, above all, have fun while nurturing a love and respect for the art of dance. Classes are held at Allan G Ezzy Hall, Pemulwuy. Please check the 2027 Timetable and Important Dates before you enrol.

Student uniform

Students are to wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear. Denim shorts, jeans and any non-stretch pants are not acceptable. Gemz Dance Academy uniform garments can be purchased throughout the year.

Hair and grooming

Students’ hair must be tied up for ALL classes. It is important that students have their hair off their face for performance and learning purposes.

  • Jazz: tan jazz shoes
  • Hip Hop: white sneakers
  • Tap: tan tap shoes
  • Ballet: pink ballet jiffies
  • Lyrical: foot thongs
  • Tiny Tots: tan jazz shoes or ballet jiffies
  • Show Group: tan jazz shoes, black jazz shoes, tan tap shoes, white high-tops, pink ballet jiffies and foot thongs

Term Fee Policy

  • Term fees are payable by the term. Payment in FULL is required by week 2 of each term.
  • An annual registration fee of $40 is payable upon enrolment.
  • Discounts are available for multiple class enrolments for the one student and for siblings.
  • A late fee of $50 applies from Week 3, with an additional $20 charged for each week thereafter until payment is received.
  • There are no refunds or makeup classes for classes that are missed.
  • GEMZ accepts cash or direct deposit. Term fee details are sent by text message and payment details are provided separately. Invoices are only emailed upon request.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Please ensure that you have read and understood our Code of Conduct. We cannot be held responsible for any errors caused by failure to read or understand the Code of Conduct in full.

INJURY / MEDICAL CONDITION POLICY & CONSENT

It is the students / parents responsibility to inform their teacher of any injuries/medical conditions prior to class commencing. Basic First aid is available to every GEMZ student. In the event of an injury GEMZ Dance will contact the emergency contact as listed on this form, and administer First Aid treatment by a qualified first aider. If medical services are necessary and an ambulance required, the student / parent /guardian will incur the costs. Please note physical contact may be required as necessary.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK AND RELEASE

Dance and physical activity carry an inherent risk of injury, such as strains, sprains and fractures, which can happen even when all reasonable care is taken. By submitting this form, I confirm that:

  • I am the parent or legal guardian of the student named above (or I am the student, if over 18), and I am authorised to enrol them and agree to these terms on their behalf.
  • I understand the risks of dance activities, and I choose to enrol the student knowing those risks.
  • I have told GEMZ about any injury, medical condition, allergy or medication that may affect participation, and I will tell GEMZ if anything changes.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, I release GEMZ Dance Academy, its directors, teachers and staff from liability for any injury, loss or damage suffered by the student or by me in connection with classes, rehearsals, performances and events. This does not limit any rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other law.
  • I authorise GEMZ directors and staff to seek medical treatment for the student if necessary, including calling an ambulance, and I accept responsibility for any costs.
  • This applies for the 2027 year, including rehearsals and the concert.

MEDIA CONSENT

At GEMZ we use social media to promote our school. Pictures / videos may be taken in class and at performances and posted to social media.
